Description

Co-codamol is a medication containing two active ingredients: codeine phosphate and paracetamol. It is used for the relief of moderate to severe pain when other painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen alone are not sufficient. Each tablet contains 30mg of codeine phosphate and 500mg of paracetamol.

Codeine phosphate is an opioid analgesic, which works by binding to opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord, reducing the perception of pain. Paracetamol, on the other hand, is a pain reliever and fever reducer that works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the brain that cause pain and fever.
